(Sports Network) - Rain forced postponement of Friday's AAA Insurance 200 Craftsman Truck Series race at Dover International Speedway. NASCAR
(web | news) officials have rescheduled the 200-mile event for 6:00 p.m. (et) Saturday.
A heavy shower moved over the one-mile track just before the start of the race. Qualifying for Sunday's Autism Speaks 400 at Dover had already wrapped up, with David Reutimann, a former Truck Series standout, taking the pole five days after winning his first career Sprint Cup event at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Ron Hornaday Jr. will start on the pole after recording the fastest qualifying lap at 155.541 m.p.h. earlier in the day at Dover. Hornaday won the truck race here two years ago.
The weather forecast for the Dover area looks much better for tomorrow evening with mostly clear skies. The Nationwide Series will run their 200-mile race at Dover tomorrow afternoon.
Dover is the second truck event to be postponed this year. Persistent rain at Martinsville earlier this season forced the 250-lap event there to be delayed one day.
