A District man is in court Tuesday pursuing his $54 million lawsuit against a dry cleaner in Northeast.
Roy Pearson is suing the owners of Custom Cleaners over what he says are false and misleading advertising claims. The Chung family had signs posted in their story claiming "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Same Day Service" when they allegedly lost Pearson's pants.
The case has been pending for two years. The Chungs said they found Pearson's pants, but the judge denied the pants were his. The judge also reportedly rejected a $12,000 settlement offer for the pants, which Pearson has valued at $800.

Pearson originally sued for $67 million under the District's consumer protection law. Last month, he modified his lawsuit to focus on the signs which have since been removed.
A lawyer for the Chungs says no reasonable person would interpret the signs as an unconditional promise of satisfaction.
Pearson, who is also a lawyer, is arguing his own case.
The case is being heard in DC Superior Court.
