Three apartment buildings in Germantown have been evacuated after firefighters discovered high concentrations of carbon monoxide.
A firefighter who lives near the 18,200 block of Swiss Circle reported a strange odor at about eight p.m. and firefighters found the carbon monoxide in the area.
About two dozen people were evacuated and no one was seriously injured. One women who became nauseous was taken to a hospital.

Investigators believe some contractors who were working in the area this afternoon nicked an underground electrical cable.
The burning insulation likely caused the deadly gas to build up over about six hours.
