Federal investigators have sent a subpoena related to a probe involving an influential state senator to a state agency.
Lynne Porter, an executive assistant to Legislative Services Director Karl Aro, says the subpoena for information related to state Sen. Ulysses Currie was e-mailed late Friday and Aro received it early Monday.
The Department of Legislative Services conducts auditing, administrative and technological support to members of the General Assembly. It would be able to provide investigators with documents and computer data from the Annapolis office of Sen. Currie, a Democrat from Prince George's County.
Last week, FBI (web) agents searched Currie's home and the headquarters of Shoppers Food Warehouse, where Curry has been employed as a consultant.
An FBI spokesman declined to comment on the subpoena.
