Police say a woman stole two 14-karat gold bracelets - by swallowing them. An employee at Hy & Mike's Pawn and Bail Bonds told police he saw the woman put the bracelets in her mouth May 27. Court documents say Salt Lake City investigators confirmed it by watching the surveillance video. The bracelets, valued around $2,000, have been recovered. Police spokesman Jeff Bedard says he doesn't know just how the jewelry was collected. Norma Porchas, 41, was charged with retail theft. She has an unlisted phone number and could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Porchas is scheduled to appear in court June 19.
