Anne Arundel County Animal Control officers responded to an unusual call in Glen Burnie last week, an alligator sighting.

A citizen reported spotting the creature in the pond at the Golf center in the 1500 block of Dorsey Road on Friday.

Animal Control officer began setting traps over the next several days.

On Wednesday, Officer Glenn Johnson used a fishing rod to capture the two-foot creature, which appears to be a caiman -- a small South American cousin of the alligator.

The alligator was taken to the Anne Arundel County Animal Control Unit, where it is currently being held.
