(Sports Network) - Asjha Jones scored a team-high 16 points and Lindsay Whalen added 15 points and seven rebounds as the Connecticut Sun defeated the Washington Mystics, 87-79, at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Barbara Turner chipped in with 15 points off the bench for Connecticut, which has won four straight and eight of its last nine. The Sun begin a five-game road trip on Tuesday night in Minnesota.
Monique Currie led all scorers with 28 points before fouling out, while Alana Beard had 21 points and five assists for the Mystics, who have lost four straight. Washington will host Sacramento on Wednesday night.

Washington outrebounded Connecticut 31-26. The Sun shot 46.5 percent from the floor, but only 28 percent from three-point range, while the Mystics made 45.9 percent of their shots and 44.4 percent from behind the arc.
