Manassas City Police are currently seeking any information leading to the arrest of suspects in the June 8 burglary of a Manassas business.
A pair of burglars are using crude, but effective tools to break into Manassas businesses.
On Monday, a masked man used a hammer to smash a locked door at a Sudley Road market. He then used the hammer to access the cash drawer. Despite the sounding of an alarm, the suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The bandit used his hammer one last time to break the security camera monitor, while another man acted as a lookout.
"It makes me mad people do that. They don't think about the people working hard," said Andrade Market owner Hugo Andrade.
In the same shopping center, Sandra's Hair Salon is cleaning up from an encounter with the hammer burglars. Back in April, thieves stole a TV and expensive equipment from the salon, but this time they left empty handed. "I think they're disappointed because they didn't take nothing," said salon owner Sandra Shihada.
Surveillance videos show one of the men to be 5'10" tall and 170 pounds. No description is available for the other suspect.
The Manassas City Crime Solvers are offering a cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Their confidential 24-hour tip line number is (703) 330-0330.
