Authorities say a northern Virginia funeral home has been fined and placed on probation.
The National Funeral Home in Falls Church was cited for keeping inadequate records and an unsanitary preparation room, and for operating without a license or manager.
The funeral home agreed not to challenge the sanctions from the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.
According to an order on the board's Web site, the funeral home was fined $13,000 and placed on probation for three years.
