State Police say a 7-year-old boy was killed and three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Red Hook Road at Route 97.

Seven-year-old Geoffrey Seargeant of Westminster was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 7 a.m. Wednesday, troopers said.

The accident occurred, authorities said, when a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Stephany Pond Seargeant was traveling eastbound on Hook Road, entered the intersection and hit a truck driven by 42-year-old William E. Beall of New Windsor. The traffic signals at the intersection were not working.

Troopers said the truck continued through the intersection and hit another vehicle.

Stephany Seargeant, a passenger in her car, 4-year-old Keira Seargeant, and Beall were all flown to area hospitals, according to state police.
