(Sports Network) - Sean O'Hair has withdrawn from the 2008 U.S. Open with a pulled chest muscle, the USGA announced Wednesday. The 25-year-old from West Chester, Pennsylvania was advised by his trainer not to compete with the injury. The 2008 PODS Championship winner, O'Hair was replaced by Gary Wolstenholme, 47, of England. O'Hair missed the cut at the Open last year, and finished 26th in the event in 2006.
Wolstenholme will be grouped with South Africa's Richard Sterne and American Hunter Mahan for the opening round of the U.S. Open, which starts at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego on Thursday.
