Zimbabwe's opposition party says its presidential candidate has been released after being detained by police.But a Movement for Democratic Change spokesman said Friday the party still had no word on another top leader. Morgan Tsvangirai was twice stopped by police as he tried to campaign Thursday. The first time, he was held for about two hours, his party said. The second time he was held late into the night before being released.
Tsvangirai faces longtime President Robert Mugabe in a June 27 runoff.

Also Thursday, top Tsvangirai aide Tendai Biti was arrested upon returning from South Africa. Police say he will be charged with treason and have not said where he is being held. His party officials say they have been unable to trace him.
