Police say four teenage females were stabbed in northeast Washington just after a peace festival ended close by.
Officials say the victims were stabbed about 7 p.m. Saturday near Nannie Helen Burroughs and Division avenues. They ranged in age from 15 to 18 and appeared to have non-life threatening injuries. It's unclear what prompted the incident.
Police say the stabbings happened about an hour after the "Peace in the Streets" festival ended just a few blocks away.
The Rev. Stephen E. Young Sr. of Holy Christian House of Praise, which organized the event, said thousands of people attended the festival that advocates ways of addressing homicide and other violence. He says he's "saddened" by the stabbings.
