Sixth District Congressman Roscoe Bartlett will host a meeting Monday evening in Middletown to discuss a proposed natural gas compressor station.

Bartlett wants citizens to tell Dominion Transmission where they believe the facility should be placed.

Dominion dropped plans to put the facility near Middletown, after the idea received strong opposition. The company is now eyeing a site near Jefferson, close to the intersection of Routes 340 and 180.

Plans call for construction to begin in August 2009, and operations to begin in 2014. Dominion must receive approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission before it can proceed.

The is being held at Middletown Middle School and begins at 7:30.
