D.C. Police Make Arrest in Year-old Merriweather Slaying

Police have made an arrest in a year-old slaying.
Eighteen-year-old Sherwood Russell, who was already being held on another charge, was arrested Thursday on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of 24-year-old Tiara Merriweather, police say.
The woman was shot in the head while with friends on June 30, 2007 in the 3500 block of Stanton Road, SE.
