(Sports Network) - The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed forward Andrew Ladd to a two-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ladd was acquired last February 26 from Carolina in exchange for Tuomo Ruutu. He notched five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 20 games after the trade, and finished the campaign with 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points in 63 games overall.

The 22-year-old British Columbia native was Carolina's first pick, and the fourth overall choice, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He has compiled 31 goals and 31 assists for 62 points in 157 regular-season NHL games.
Ladd was part of Carolina's run to the Stanley Cup championship in 2006, notching two goals and three assists in 17 playoff games that spring.
