The Arlington County Police Department's Burglary Squad is seeking the public's help to identify a man who broke into three dry cleaning stores and stole cash.

Surveillance video released by the police shows the suspect inside one of the stores. Sometime between March 15 and March 17, 2008, he entered Tops Cleaners, located in the 5200 block of Lee Highway.

Once inside, the suspect crawled around behind the counter to avoid detection and took money from the cash registers.

"I think he's familiar {with} this store, said owner Kap Na. "He knows where to go to the office."

"I feel like there was someone watching us...leave the store every night," said Harae Na. "That kind of scared me."

Detectives believe the same suspect is responsible for two other burglaries. He entered Bergman's Cleaners in the 2100 block of Lee Highway on the night of April 10, and the Hurt Cleaners in the 3400 block of Wilson Boulevard overnight on April 22. Cash was taken from both stores.

"We don't know exactly why, but he obviously decided that he was going to burglarize cleaners -- dry cleaning stores," said Arlington County police spokesman John Lisle.

Police believe the burglar used a different method to break in to each building.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or has information about the burglaries, is asked to call Arlington County Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Callers to Crime Solvers do not have to give their names and do not need to testify in court.
