The Baltimore City Health Commissioner has declared Friday a Code Red Heat Alert Day.
The city is opening emergency cooling shelters with cool air, water and ice to help people beat the expected high temperatures.
Residents can go to Recreation and Parks Centers throughout the city, or to shelters operated by the Housing Department and the Commission on Aging and Retirement Education.
Residents needing information on the cooling centers can call 311.
