The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission says additional repair work is needed on the 48-inch water main that broke in Montgomery County (web|news) .

The utility says four 16-foot sections of the pipe need work. Starting Monday, workers will begin using carbon fiber wrap to fix the additional sections of the pipe. Repairs are expected to take six days, then several days will be needed to recharge the main pipe and return it to service.

Thousands of people living north of the Beltway were told to boil water used for drinking and cooking after the water main ruptured on June 15.
