United Waives Forward Niell

(Sports Network) - D.C. United announced on Thursday the club has waived forward Franco Niell. The 24-year-old forward was acquired by United on Jan. 22 on a one-year loan from First Division Argentine side Argentinos Junior.
Niell leaves D.C. United after tallying one assist in seven games. He also scored four goals and one assist in five reserve matches.
Before joining United, Niell spent his entire professional career with Argentinos Junior, making his debut during the 2004-05 campaign.
