(Sports Network) - Davidson men's basketball coach Bob McKillop has signed a contract extension through the 2015-16 season. McKillop guided the Wildcats to a 29-7 overall record last season, including a 25-game winning streak, the longest in the nation last season.

In addition, he led the team to an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA tournament, which the team lost by a missed three-pointer at the buzzer to eventual national champion Kansas.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? "I'd like to thank [school president] Tom Ross, the Davidson College community, my staff, all of my players and my family for giving me the opportunity to continue my commitment to Davidson," said McKillop. "Commitment has been the foundation of what we have accomplished, and this clearly strengthens the foundation."

Over his 19 seasons with the school, McKillop has a record of 340-225 and is 58-12 over the past two seasons. He has guided the school to seven 20-win seasons and five appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
