(Sports Network) - Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy underwent successful surgery on his right knee on Wednesday afternoon and will likely be out 6-9 months while he recovers. Kennedy has been added to the team's Disabled List and is ineligible for Major League Soccer play.
The original injury occurred during a preseason scrimmage against the Chicago Fire. Kennedy attempted to return without surgery but was unable to gain full functionality of the knee, requiring the a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction.
