DAYTON, Md. - Howard County police are investigating the fatal collision of two SUVs late Thursday night.
Around 10:23 p.m., the driver of a Ford Explorer was driving north on Route 32 south of Linden Church Road when he crossed the center line and hit a Chevrolet Suburban head on.
The Ford driver, 26-year-old Wayne Wagner of Mt. Airy, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, 43-year-old Michael Mutchler of Odenton, was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. He is listed in critical condition.
The other four people in the Suburban were taken to John's Hopkins Hospital and are all in stable condition. 44-year-old Mary Mires of Odenton was in the front passenger seat, while three children aged 11, 12, and 13 were in the back seat.
The crash is currently under investigation.
