(Sports Network) - Sixth-seeded rising Dane Caroline Wozniacki was an easy quarterfinal winner, while reigning champion Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland came up a loser Thursday at the $600,00 Aegon International tennis event, a final grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.
Wozniacki drilled Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova 6-3, 6-2, while the eighth-seeded Radwanska succumbed to France's Virginie Razzano 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. Razzano also upended top-seeded Russian Elena Dementieva here on Wednesday.
Radwanska captured this event a year ago by besting Russian Nadia Petrova in the final at Devonshire Park.
In the other quarters, 2007 Wimbledon runner-up Marion Bartoli of France handled Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues 6-1, 6-4 and Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak lambasted Russian qualifier Vera Dushevina 6-1, 6-0.
Friday's semifinals will pit Wozniacki against Wozniak and Razzano versus Bartoli in an all-French affair. Wozniacki whipped Wozniak in a final in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida back in April.
Wozniacki is trying to reach her fifth final of 2009.
The 2009 Eastbourne champ will collect $98,500.
