(Sports Network) - Toronto Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday and will start Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Halladay suffered a strained right groin during his June 12 start versus Florida and was forced to leave after three-plus innings. He attempted a bullpen session two days later but felt continued discomfort and missed his next two turns in the rotation.
Brad Mills was slotted into Halladay's spot but was optioned back to Triple-A Las Vegas following Saturday's game to make room on the roster.
Halladay's 10 wins is tied for the major league-lead and his 2.53 earned run average ranks third. He had pitched at least seven innings in each of his previous 13 starts this season before his outing against the Marlins. The imposing right-hander has 88 strikeouts to just 12 walks in 103 innings pitched.
