WHEATON, Md. - Montgomery County
(web | news) Police 4th District detectives says a missing Wheaton woman has been located and appears to be unharmed.
Authorities say 25-year-old Sakina Knight of the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton went missing after a stakeout at her home following a domestic dispute.
Knight was last seen at her home but her family was unable to find or contact her after a domestic dispute that began around 7:30 Sunday morning.
Police officers reported to Knight's home on Sunday when a man, believed to be 32-year-old Kareem Gaines, was seen breaking into her apartment at 2:00 p.m.
Several roads in the area of Knight's residence were shut down for several hours as police investigated the incident. Montgomery County fire and rescue crews and a SWAT team also responded to the scene.
Eventually police determined that neither Knight nor Gaines were at the home.
Sakina Knight is described as a black female, 5'7" tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds. She has also been known to go by the name Stephenna Knight.
Police and family said they were concerned for her welfare and that she might have been with Gaines, who is described as a black male, 5'11" tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds, with a tattoo on his left hand. He is wanted for armed robbery in Pennsylvania.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available.
