Rabid Bat Discovered in Alexandria

Alexandria officials have posted signs warning residents about a rabid bat that was found recently in the city.

The Virginia Health Department says three boys found the dead bat last Wednesday in a wooded area. One boy brought it home to show his mother, who threw it away. Eventually, the bat was sent to Richmond where it tested positive for rabies.
