Barry Accuses Fenty of 'Betrayal' in Stadium Talks

Marion Barry says he feels betrayed by D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty over the sudden possibility that the city may not support a new soccer stadium in Southeast.
The D.C. Council member and former mayor represents the ward where the stadium would be built for D.C. United.
The team and city have been negotiating for months over a proposal to move the team from RFK Stadium.
D.C. United wants to build a new stadium on the eastern shore of the Anacostia River across from the Washington Nationals' new ballpark.
But talks have broken down, and the city is seeking proposals from other developers for the site.
Barry and a group of Ward 8 activists say they support the project.
Barry says Fenty disrespected residents by going in another direction without giving him notice.
