Temporary Market Opening Delayed
   posted 11:27 am Sat July 28, 2007 - WASHINGTON
The opening of a temporary home for Eastern Market merchants has been delayed.
The market was gutted in an April 30th fire. Mayor Adrian Fenty has promised to rebuild the market, and the city had hoped to open a temporary shed by the end of this month.

City Administrator Dan Tangherlini says construction of the shed is being delayed while the District orders refrigeration equipment for food merchants. Officials now hope to open the shed for business August 25th.
