A chimney is all that remains of a $3 million home in Ashton after a fire broke out at the residence around 3 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators say a neighbor called the fire department, reporting the smell of smoke at the home in the 100 block of Ashton Oaks Court. But by the time firefighers arrived on the scene, the house was engulfed.
Officials say the damage was estimated at $3 million.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No one was inside the house and no injuries were reported.
