(Sports Network) - D.C. United announced midfielder Dan Stratford had successful knee surgery on Monday morning. The 23-year-old will take three to four weeks to recover.
"We're pleased with the result of Dan's surgery and look forward to seeing him progress as a professional soccer player," United General Manager Dave Kasper said.
Stratford was acquired in the second round of the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft on Jan. 24. The midfielder has seen 81 minutes of playing time in five games with the first team this season.
