Fairfax County (web|news) police report $326,000 has been stolen from Fairfax Connector bus fare boxes since last year.

Thong Khoune Sisaath of Sterling, who cleaned and fueled buses at the Herndon depot, was arrested July 2. She was charged with grand larceny and possession of burglary tools.

Carl Rich of Fairfax also was arrested July 3. He was charged with embezzlement, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy to commit grand larceny.

The county says it didn't lose any money because the private company that operates the buses provides a guarantee.
