An agreement to rescue the Prince George's Hospital System is complete.

A deal made last week sets up the state and county to split a total commitment of $150 million in grant support over five years. The plan seeks to overcome years of fiscal challenges for the hospital, which serves a great number of uninsured patients.

The plan starts in 2010, once a new owner is found for the medical network that operates Maryland's second-busiest trauma center.

Officials tentatively agreed to the plan last week.

Because there isn't many places an uninsured person can go for care these days without being turned away, to me this is great news!  Thank you PG county , the state of MD, and above all - the doctors who are working really hard there -  for fighting  to keep the hospital open.
