D.C. Police say they've arrested one suspect, but continue looking for a second gunman responsible for opening fire on six men late Friday night in the Fifth District.
The shootings happened just outside the city's troubled Trinidad neighborhood and its police checkpoints.
Metropolitan police say they responded to a call for shots fired shortly after 10 p.m. at the intersection of North Capitol and S Streets in NE. Police say all victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, three of the victims were located along Lincoln Road and one was located along North Capitol Street. They say two others drove themselves to a hospital. Police say it appears all six victims were shot on Lincoln Road, with most struck in the arms or legs. It's unclear what prompted the incident.
Just one day ago, a fatal shooting happened along North Capitol Street. At the same time, residents of the troubled Fifth District rallied and marched to end the violence.
A vigil took place Saturday at 3 p.m. on Childress Street in Northeast for 13-year-old Alonzo Robinson, who was shot and killed while walking with his mother in Trinidad just last weekend.
