Authorities say a house fire in Brunswick hurt three people, leaving an 11-year-old girl with third degree burns.

Seventy-five firefighters from Frederick and Washington Counties were called to a 2-alarm fire at the Beachley's home in Brunswick around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

"It was all going. They had the two shooter trucks going and it didn't look like it was even helping. It was so hot," said Kenneth Bleachely.

Eleven-year-old Ashley Beachley had the worst injuries of the three that were hurt and family members said she suffered severe burns especially to her hands.

"She ran out the hallway, rolled down the steps, and out the door. That's how she got burned. She had her hands up trying to block it,' Kenneth.

Jennifer Beachley sifted through ashes Wednesday looking for what was left of the place she used to call home. "It's sickening, 34 years right here in this house, lived here all my life. It just makes you sick to your stomach."

Overnight neighbors, like Teresa Stocks, went through their closets for clothes. Neighbors said they will be gathering more donations from anyone willing to help.

"Its just what you are supposed to do when people have tragedy hit their lives, this was definitely devastating to this family. It was devastating," said Stocks.

Police say five people were in the house when the fire started and they believe the fire started in the basement but the cause is still under investigation.

Ashley Beachley is being treated at Shriners Hospital for kids in Boston. She has been upgraded to stable condition. The rest of the family is out of the hospital.

The Brunswick community is rallying around the family, collection jars are going up at several local businesses and friends are organizing a clothing drive. Resident Teresa Stocks is also coordinating what she calls a 'card drive' urging people to send their get well thoughts to Ashley Beachley as she recovers at Shriners Hospital for children.
