Hostage Situation Ends Peacefully in Columbia Heights

Metropolitan Police Department (web|news) officials said a hostage situation ended peacefully in Columbia Heights.
Police were called at 6:20 p.m. to a house in the 1400 block of Perry Place NW for a man who was holding another man and a woman inside a home.
Police said they believed the man was armed. The barricade ended around 8 p.m. when the man surrendered and released the hostages.
No one was hurt. Police closed roads in the neighborhood during the situation.
