(Sports Network) - Jacksonville University head coach Cliff Warren received a contract extension through the 2012-13 season Thursday.

Warren guided the program to its first postseason berth since the 1987 season, the NIT, and has recorded three consecutive winning campaigns.

"Cliff has done an exceptional job with our men's basketball program and has raised our program's visibility nationally," said school athletic director Alan Verlander. "Cliff is following the plan he and I laid out four years ago to bring the tradition of JU basketball back."

Warren won just one game in his first season as head coach but has since turned the team into one of the best in the Atlantic Sun Conference. In each of the last two seasons, the Dolphins have won 18 games, culminating in a conference title in 2008-09.

"We have made significant progress with our program, but we continue to work each day to get better in an effort to reach our ultimate goal of playing in the NCAA Tournament," Warren said.
