MANASSAS, Va. - A Prince William County (web | news) family got quite a shock when a naked man broke into their home demanding they let him stay the night.

Sources say the incident occurred in the 8900 block of Sweetbriar Street in Manassas Monday night.

When 20-year-old Ryan Martin fell asleep on his living room couch, he never thought he'd be awakened by a total stranger hovering over him completely naked.

"He was like, 'I'm just going to stay the night with you tonight,'" said Ryan Martin. "I was like, 'No, you need to leave...'"

It was around 4 a.m, when police say 22-year-old Zachary Catlin broke through the front door demanding a place to crash. Martin's parents immediately ran out of their bedroom when they heard the commotion.

"He fought me for the door about three times at the back," said Jack Martin, the homeowner.

Martin said the intruder refused to leave and began yelling obscenities. While the Martins called police, the "birthday suit bandit" began smashing his hands on the door and backyard fence.

"I was worried that he was going to try to get back in the house," said Jack Martin.

Manassas City police say Catlin was just hanging out on the back deck when officers arrived. Police say he refused to comply and at one point, he even picked up a toy gun and threatened the cops with it.

"They opened the door, he charged in after them. They tased him, they hit him with a taser and he went down," said Jack Martin.

While reliving the weird incident in his head over and over, Jack Martin has spent the day power washing his deck, glass door and living room carpet which was stained with the intruder's blood.

"It was totally ridiculous. They were asking him his first name and he was answering with colors," he said.

It's an image the family won't get out of their minds anytime soon. Able to laugh now, they say they're just glad no one was hurt and the youngest brother, a 12-year-old, was out of town with his grandmother.

"At first it was kind of freaky but then it just got ridiculous," noted Ryan Martin.

Catlin, who lives in Dumfries, was taken into custody and charged with public drunkenness, burglary, indecent exposure and resisting arrest. He is being held without bond.
