(Sports Network) - Yura Movsisyan sparked a furious four-goal rally in the second half for Real Salt Lake as he came off the bench to score two goals in a 4-2 win over FC Dallas at Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday.
Dallas (4-9-5) took a 2-0 lead into halftime after goals from Jeff Cunningham and Dave van den Bergh, but Movsisyan entered the match in the second half and scored in the 54th minute.
A penalty kick from Robbie Findley on the hour mark then leveled the match, while Cunningham had a chance from the penalty spot but was stopped by RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.
An own goal from Daniel Torres in the 88th minute then allowed the hosts to move in front, while Movsisyan secured the points in stoppage time with his second goal.
RSL (6-7-5) remains in sixth in the Western Conference despite the win, but they are just one point back of fifth-placed Colorado and have won three of their last six games.
The loss drops Dallas six points back of RSL, and leaves their playoff hopes very much in doubt.
The hosts created the first chance in the 11th minute when Findley played Fabian Espindola into the box on the left, but he fired into the outside of the net.
Dallas then controlled the remainder of the half and the Hoops went in front two minutes later.
Cunningham stole the ball from Will Johnson near the top of the box and fired a quick shot that took a slight deflection off of defender Nat Borchers and found its way past Rimando.
It took eight minutes for Dallas to double its lead as a nice build up allowed Cunningham to play the ball wide to David Ferreira, who then sent a first-time pass across the box to Van den Bergh for an easy finish.
The lead could have grown to 3-0 before halftime when Cunningham redirected a ball off the post, but the introduction of Movsisyan in the second half sparked the RSL attack.
Javier Morales set up the first goal for his team when he played Movsisyan in behind the Dallas defense before the striker slotted his shot past goalkeeper Ray Burse, while the hosts were able to equalize six minutes later.
A left-wing cross arrived at the back post for Findley, but he was tripped up by Jair Benitez, giving away a penalty kick.
Findley then fired the spot kick inside the right post to level the match at 2-2, but Rimando would be called upon 10 minutes later to keep the match level.
Van den Bergh struck a free kick from outside the box that hit the arm of RSL's Chris Wingert, giving Dallas a chance to regain the lead from the penalty spot.
However, Cunningham tried to go to the keeper's left and Rimando guessed correctly, making a comfortable save.
Torres then accidentally redirected the ball into his own net after Espindola tried to cross it, and Movsisyan added another goal for good measure right before the final whistle.
