Metro Sets Ridership Record in July
   posted 2:11 pm Mon August 06, 2007 - Washington
It was the biggest month in Metro history. Officials with the transit system say 19.2 million people rode the rails in July - more than in any other month in Metro's 31-year history.

The previous record was set in June, when 19.08 million people took Metro. General Manager John Catoe credits beautiful weather, local sports events and concerts, and continued high gas prices.
