It is always a tragedy to hear of more blood spilt, more lives lost. It makes the story even harder to stomach when it is someone you know… Rest in peace, my thoughts are with all of the family and friends. ~K, Alexandria, Va

Street capital punishment saves the taxpayers a great deal of money, as mentioned yesterday, when lowlifes slaughter one another. No trials, no incarceration, and very little cleanup.

And the bureaucratically larded, next-to-useless Metropolitan Police Department sits back and watches the carnage day in and day out. How about an arrest? Or would that be too much to ask of the MPD?

Some folks love to blame the mayhem on the court system or the cowardly residents who are too wimpy to step forward and testify. But if the community is going to sit back and watch and do nothing, this behavior is going to continue ad infinitum. Yes it is sort of sad, but it's also a bit comical that a police force that can barely get out of its own way is charged with keeping the peace.

It's a sad when you turn on your TV for the weather and murder report. It's sad when it's news that the driver of the car that hit a pedestrian stayed on the seen.

.."no motives or suspects". It's a typical day in D.C. when this happens. I wonder why it's even being reported. We have all come to expect this type of behavior daily. It's getting "ho hum".

SpareMe I think you missed your calling, or are you a speech writer?

The only solution to these problems is to raze the entire block and build mixed use developments.

Spareme - It is sad. Maybe one of these days we will wake up and abandon the "poor disadvantaged youth" impression of these pieces of trash and deal with them accordingly. I disagree with preoccupied about the killers not knowing how much they hurt the families. They DO know and they DON'T care. We don't need their kind on our planet.

It is a sad day when crimes of this nature are no longer shocking. Is is a sad day when you hear a report such as this and the first thing that comes to mind it "again or what's new". It is a sad day when Police Officers and EMS workers arrive at a scene like this and they are no longer affected by the sight or smell of death and decay. It is a sad day when someone can take 2 lives over something silly and stupid then simply walk away as though nothing happened.

It is even sadder when we live we live in a world where folks know and see who committed the crime and fail to speak up because of lack of protection and/or fear.

These killers, dealers, etc. don't realize how much they hurt the family and loved ones, not only for the victims, but for those family members, of the killers who are put away for life. The traffic on the streets after 11:00 are sparse. That lets us know raven that people may agree with you.

Nothing good ever happens past midnight and I suppose this is no different. Until they release a bit more, i suppose this was a deal gone bad...

So what is new about this - too bad but perhaps one day people will realize you cannot be on the streets, on your porch, in your yard and/or vehicles in this area at odd hours. The same is true, sadly, for day hours too in some instances.

Wonder if Peter Griffin (?) will say it is because of the SUV?
