Repel the "No guns allowed" law in D.C. and let the honest people carry and protect themselves and the crime rate will drop. Only bad guys have guns in D.C. because they dont care if they are breaking the law.

bobesox - genocide? what is happening in Darfur is genocide, what is going on in DC and PG County is nothing but complete and utter thugery at its best/worst. These are drug related crimes committed by criminals who should be behind bars.

I feel sorry for the innocent bystanders who do not partake in these activities yet get caught up in the mess.

Sad thing is, there's probably lots of good people living in that area, but it's only the bad guys who get the publicity. Wouldn't be so bad if the bad guys would stick to shooting each other, but too often, good people get caught in the crossfire.

actually Old Guy .. armed good guys wouldn't really do that much good .. since most shootings are bad guys shooting guys .. something like 80 percent of urban victims are on parole/probation, are wanted ...have priors ...and abput the same percentage the incidents are familial .. the victims know their killers ... and if carry laws and the death penalty are so effective on cutting down on murders .. how come texas has something like 460 on death row .

You're right Shovelhead. I guess the bad guys missed the memo about guns being banned. The leaders of DC don't want guns because they feel that the bad guys have enough to worry about getting shot by other bad guys. If law abiding citizens could carry guns, more bad guys might get shot while trying to hurt the good guys. We can't have that. . . . or can we?

I used to live a block away from there. There is a cement community square where guys hang out night and day. I moved out of that neighborhood when 4 people were shot with 2 dying across the street from me. Guess Columbia Heights hasn't changed that much.

I agree with you bobesox, but its the choices they make. If you lead that type of lifestyle, then suffer the consequences. So long as their world doesn't infringe on mine.
