The District of Columbia has topped the list of the area with the most overweight children.  A national report released Monday by the Trust For America's Health found 22.8 percent of D.C. kids aged 10-17 are obese.

The 2007 survey marks the first time children's obesity was tracked separately. Virginia ranks 25th on the list at 13.8 percent. Maryland ranks  29th with 13.3 percent. Utah has the lowest percentage of overweight youth at 8.5 percent. The District ranks 40th overall for obesity, tying New Jersey. The report ranks Virginia as 23rd in the country, up from 25th last year.
