Anne Arundel County Middle Schools Add Police Officers
posted 4:11 pm Fri August 31, 2007 - Annapolis, MD
Anne Arundel County school officials have placed police officers in six county middle schools for the first time.

Four officers will be at Marley Middle School, MacArthur Middle School, Chesapeake Middle School, Annapolis Middle School. And one officer will split his time between Old Mill Middle North and Old Mill Middle South schools. Bob Yatsuk, the project manager for the county's office of school security, says it's good for the students to have some familiarity with officers before they get to high school where officers have been stationed since 2000.

When I was young we did it with a field trip to the police station. We didn't have any need for security staff, let alone police. Times have changed.
