(Sports Network) - Longtime Atlanta Braves broadcaster Skip Caray died at his home in his sleep on Sunday, he was 68. Inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame in 2005, Caray began his broadcasting career in St. Louis with a 15-minute high school sports show and as a sportscaster for high school basketball games. He later joined his father, legendary broadcaster Harry Caray, as a color commentator for Missouri football. He joined the NBA's St. Louis Hawks broadcasting team in 1967, moving to Atlanta with the team the following year.

Caray had been calling Braves games for 33 years and was just nine days away from his 69th birthday. He passed away in his sleep.
