Prosecutors say an Ashburn woman who blamed her doctor for her son's severe birth defect has been indicted by a Loudoun County (web|news) grand jury on charges she confronted the doctor and his wife with a gun.
Thirty-nine-year-old Michele Davidson is accused of driving to the Leesburg home of her former employer and doctor Chauncey Stokes on May 31, then demanding to speak to him. Witnesses told authorities she threatened to kill herself, but she wanted the family to wait as long as she says she had to for her emergency delivery - ninety minutes.
Davidson's son was born with a form of cerebral palsy. The standoff ended after Stokes' daughter fled to a neighbor's home to call police.
Defense attorney Todd Sanders says Davidson suffered from postpartum depression and only intended to harm herself.
