(Sports Network) - The United States was bounced out of the women's Olympic table tennis tournament Saturday, losing, 3-0, to Korea at Beijing's PKU Gymnasium. Despite the loss in the bronze medal playoff, it was the best finish ever for the U.S. in Olympic table tennis. No American team had ever advanced past the quarterfinals before Chen Wang, Jun Gao and Crystal Huang came just one step away from the bronze medal match in the team competition.

The U.S. team lost all three matches in the best-of-five competition against Korea, which will face Japan on Sunday before China takes on Singapore for the gold medal.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? "I feel sad, but actually it's ok for us. I'm so happy we made a record for the U.S. team," said Gao, a 1992 Olympic silver medalist for her native China. "We could have won, if we would have taken more chances."

The ninth-seeded Americans finished the tournament in fifth place.
