(Sports Network) - Americans Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor moved a step closer to another Olympic gold medal in women's beach volleyball by taking out a Brazilian duo in the semifinals on Tuesday.
Walsh and May-Treanor have never lost an Olympic beach volleyball match and are the only team to not concede a set in Beijing. They topped Renata Ribeiro and Talita Rocha, 21-12, 21-14, on Tuesday.
To the American duo, they don't care much about the winning streak, just the Olympic hardware.

"We don't think too much about it; that's the name of the game," said Walsh. "We don't care about the streak, we're just focusing on that medal."
Ahead in the final will be the tandem of Tian Jia and Wang Jie, who beat Xue Chen and Zhang Xi in an all Chinese semifinal, 22-24, 29-27, 15-8.
Rocha and Ribeiro actually led the second set, 5-4, but Walsh and May-Treanor then stepped it up a notch with several dink shots, and their quickness was just too much for the Brazilians.
"The best part of the match for us was the beginning of the second set," said Ribeiro. "But to win, we would have had to be perfect. We will be cheering for them (Walsh and May-Treanor) in the final. I hope they win because they're the best."
The gold and bronze medal matches are scheduled for Thursday.
