(Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed oft-injured running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams on the physically unable to perform list, assuring he will be out of action for the regular season's first six weeks.
Williams was placed on the PUP list at the beginning of training camp due to a knee injury he suffered in 2007.
The fourth-year Auburn product has gone steadily downhill since rushing for 1,178 yards and six touchdowns in his rookie campaign. Last season, in only four games, he mustered 208 yards and three touchdowns before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
