(Sports Network) - Janel McCarville scored a team-high 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists, as the New York Liberty claimed an 84-66 win over the Sacramento Monarchs at ARCO Arena.
Tiffany Jackson and Ashley Battle each went for 11 points for New York, which snapped a five-game slide, but still remain in last place in the Eastern Conference.
Courtney Paris scored a game-high 19 points for the Monarchs, who have dropped three of four. Sacramento sits in last in the Western Conference. Rebekkah Brunson added 14 points and seven boards in defeat.
New York shot 48.3 percent from the field, including 40 percent (10-of-25) from three-point range, while the Monarchs finished 42.1 percent from the floor and 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.
